For whatever reason, it seems like March and April are big months for Annual Inspections. So remember, if you have a commercial truck or trailer, chances are it needs a Federal DOT inspection once a year. And boom & scissor lifts are required to have an ANSI inspection every year as well. Fines are hefty, usually much more than whatever the inspections and needed repairs cost. Just give us a call at 865-696-8099 if you have any questions about either of these types of inspections in the greater Knoxville, TN area.

Update as of 10-29-09…we are currently out of these batteries, but are working on getting some more and I will post an update here within the next few days. Thanks!

We recently came across a deal on some used UPS12-310FR batteries that were removed from a large UPS system. These are 88.0 amp hour group 31 gel cell batteries and weigh 67 pounds each. As they come in we put them on a slow charge for several days, load test them, then let them sit for a week and check the surface voltage. We are not sure of the manufacture date but they appear to be about 5 years old. I have some of the same batteries that are well over 10 years old that are still in excellent shape.

Along with an inverter, these would make a great emergency power system. We have sold quite a few of them with no problems and we will gladly exchange them if returned within 30 days of purchase. Price is $50.00 each.

We were recently approached by an Utility Contractor who was interested in having us perform some welding on pipe casings. Of course we accepted the job which consists of 100% welds on 4 joints of 3/4″ thick pipe that is 5 feet in diameter and 20 feet long. One of the big hurdles is the fact that each joint needs to be completely welded before the contractor can dig out for the next section…so we are doing most of the work in the late afternoon/early evening.
